It’s the Gold Standard for eliminating spider veins. It is relatively painless and can be performed on an outpatient basis. It is cheaper than lasers, and leaves no scars. A concentrated saline or specially-developed chemical solution is injected into the spider vein with a microfine needle. The solution washes over the tiny cells which line the inner wall of the blood vessel, dries them out, and causes them to shrink. Within a week or two, the blood vessels disappear by a natural cleaning of the body. The work of carrying the blood is shifted to other healthy blood vessels nearby, consequently improving circulation.
